8周年記念トップ使用MOD一覧

　8周年記念用として撮影したこちらの画像に使用したMODと、Steamワークショップ他へのリンクの一覧を掲載します。
　（勝手ながら、これによってMOD制作者様のクレジットに代えさせていただきます）

――の前に、そもそもGarry's Modって？

　Garry's Modとは、Steamの運営でもある米Valve社の代表作の一つ「Half-Life2」のMODとして開発されたソフトウェアであった。
　「あった」というのは、その後Half-Life2のゲームエンジンを搭載し単独でもプレイ可能なゲーム・・・というかツクールツールへとアップグレードを遂げているためだ。
　Modとして作成されていた様々なマップを舞台に小道具「プロップ」や装置「エンティティ」を配置し、「NPC」や人型の小道具「ラグドール」を並べていろいろやろうぜというノリである。
　ゲームモードとしては敵NPCと撃ち合う一般的なFPSや、ゾンビなどのクリーチャーを相手にしたホラーFPS、あるいは戦闘が無くマップの中でプロップを探す疑似リアル物探しゲームと豊富に用意されており、さらにゲームモード自体もMODとして作成・追加が可能。
　オンラインCOOPへも対応しており他人のゲームに参加したり自分のゲームを作成して公開したり、特に遊び方が定められていないサンドボックスモードで即興のネタを出し合ったりして大勢でも楽しめる、可能性のおもちゃ箱といったソフトウェアなのだ。

　と、いうわけで今回は有志によって公開されているさまざまなMODを組み合わせて作成したジオラマを撮影したもの。
　（使用したMODの中にはValve社外のゲームキャラクターを再現したもの、中にはひょっとしてデータをそのまま抽出してきたんじゃないかというくらいリアルなものを含めており、それぞれ大人の事情（翻案権、同一性保持権、ゲームの利用規約、etc）に触れる恐れがあるものの、キャラクターの表現自体には極力注意したつもりである。）
　残念ながらこの状態でキャラクターたちが動くということは無いわけだが、こうしたジオラマの中を自分の視点で歩く楽しみも本作の遊び方の一つ、として感じていただければ幸いだ。
